Thassos is a pole of attraction for thousands of tourists every year, especially during summer, but it is also a perfect place for vacations during autumn and spring as well.
It is very close to the main Greek land, thus the expenses to get here are very low, comparing to the other Greek islands. Thassos has beautiful beaches, which have crystal blue waters, all around the island.
It also has amazing deep green nature areas full of plane and pine trees at its inner part. Thus, is a perfect place for holidays because it combines perfectly the sea and mountain.
Potos is known as one of the most cosmopolitan villages of Thassos with many cafes, tavernas and small souvenir shops keeping the village lively during the long summer days. It used to be a port of Theologos, an old Thassos capital 14 km away and a stunning mountain village you must visit.
Anything one might need during their holiday can be found in Potos – boat, car and bike rental services, supermarkets, bakeries and pharmacies. If you are looking for an adventure, Potos has excellent water sports choices and specialised shops with diving and fishing equipment.
Thassos is only accessible by ferry boat and has two ports, Skala Prinos and Limenas (Thassos Town) which are serviced from Kavala and Keramoti on the mainland.
The easiest way to get to our hotel is to arrive in Limenas by ferry from the port of Keramoti which is only a 10 minute drive from Kavala airport (Megas Alexandros) and 190 km away from Thessaloniki.
The fastest route is from Keramoti to Limenas (Thassos Town), with a journey time of just 35 minutes and frequent sailings, every half an hour during the summer, this is the preferred route of many visitors to Thassos. Once you get off the ferry enter the ringroad & follow the signs towards Prinos or Potos. Stay your course and pass through all the other villages until you reach your destination, Potos.
The ferry from Kavala arrives at Skala Prinos and the journey takes an hour and a quarter with about 5 daily departures in summer. When you arrive in Skala Prinos you will travel either by car or by bus to Potos, which is 27 kilometres away. Turn right on the ring road at Skala Prinos and continue the at the end of Prinos, Skala Sotiros, Skala Kallirachi, Skala Maries, Limenaria until you reach Potos.
The closest airport to Thassos is Kavala Airport (Megas Alexandros Airport) which is close to Chrisoupolis just 17 km’s from the port of Keramoti. There is an all year round daily service to Athens and during the summer hosts charter flights from all over Europe.
